The short version: Family Binder helps you write down where your important things are and who to call. It is a guide for your family. It is not a will, not a legal document, and not legal, financial or medical advice. You pay once, it's yours, and if it's not right for you, we'll refund you within 30 days.
Who we are
Family Binder is made by JOPA Labs. By using getfamilybinder.com, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What Family Binder is
Family Binder is a guided set of questions. Your answers become a printable document your family can use to find your important papers, accounts and contacts, and to understand your wishes.
What Family Binder isn't
- It's not a will. It does not decide who receives your property and has no legal force. If you need a will, power of attorney or health care directive, please speak with a lawyer or notary.
- It's not professional advice. Nothing in Family Binder is legal, financial, tax or medical advice.
- It's not a vault. Please don't enter passwords, account numbers, PINs or government ID numbers.
Your answers are your responsibility
You decide what to write, and you're responsible for keeping it accurate and up to date. Your answers are saved only in your own browser (see our Privacy page). We can't see, back up or recover them, so we're not responsible if they're lost because browser data was cleared or a device was lost or replaced. Use the backup button to protect your work.
Your printed binder may contain personal information. Store it somewhere safe.
Price and payment
- The first section is free to try. Unlocking the rest of the questions and your printable binder costs a one-time payment, shown at checkout.
- There's no subscription and no automatic renewal. We don't keep your card on file.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Prices may include or add sales tax where required.
Refunds
If anything's off, email us within 30 days of buying and we'll make it right, including a full refund. See our Refunds page.
Using Family Binder
Your purchase is for your own personal use and your family's. Please don't copy, resell or redistribute the questions, design or binder format, or use the site to break any law.
The Family Binder name, questions, writing and design belong to JOPA Labs. The answers you write, and your finished binder, belong to you.
Our responsibility
We work hard to make Family Binder clear and reliable, but it's provided "as is." We can't promise the website will always be available or error-free.
As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for decisions made using your binder or for indirect losses. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top when we do. The terms in place when you bought apply to your purchase.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
